Lenovo repair halves RAM: Legion 5 owner gets 32 GB back instead of 64

A Reddit user known as GRINZ_DOCTOR has shared a frustrating warranty experience with his Lenovo Legion 5 laptop. After sending the device in for repair, it was returned with only 32 GB of RAM — half of the original 64 GB.
The user purchased the laptop from Best Buy in December of last year. The configuration includes an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. For the first eight months, the device reportedly worked without any issues.
After the repair, the laptop came back with a single 32 GB memory module. The service center told the owner that the laptop supports a maximum of 32 GB of RAM. According to Best Buy's documentation, the removed 32 GB module was returned along with the laptop.
However, the official Lenovo PSREF page for this specific model states that it supports up to 64 GB of RAM. The owner is now planning to contact Lenovo directly to clarify the situation and resolve the discrepancy.
