Leak reveals 14 bizarre characters in FromSoftware's new Nintendo Switch 2 game — including a guillotine-wielding fighter

FromSoftware, the studio behind Dark Souls and Elden Ring, is developing a new PvPvE action RPG titled The Duskbloods, set for an exclusive release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The game pits up to eight players, known as Bloodsworn, against each other and computer-controlled enemies. A recent leak allegedly reveals 14 playable characters, complete with their names, backstories, and special abilities.

The leak originated from an anonymous user on the Japanese forum 2ch.sc, who claimed to have analyzed updated data from an "HP server" ahead of an upcoming code announcement. "HP" likely refers to a homepage or web server. The Japanese Matome blog Dark Soku picked up the post on August 17, and Insider Gaming reported on the information the following day.

The leaked characters feature wildly different playstyles, including heavy melee fighters, highly mobile units, poison attacks, transformations, self-buffs, and abilities that allow copying other techniques. Blood is a common theme: characters drain it from enemies, use it for attacks, or harness it to strengthen their own bodies.

Among the allegedly leaked characters are Walter, who tracks victims by the scent of their blood; Gillian, wielding a massive guillotine blade; Veronica, a blind nun whose footsteps cause decay around her; and Oscar, who can buff himself. The full list includes 14 characters, but details on the others remain sparse. The leak suggests a diverse roster, blending gothic horror with creative combat mechanics, though FromSoftware has not confirmed any of the information.
