KOSPET ORB 2 and PULSE 2: rugged smartwatches with AMOLED and GPS for under $150

KOSPET has launched two rugged smartwatch models — ORB 2 and PULSE 2 — positioning them as a middle-ground alternative to expensive adventure watches and cheap, bulky "bricks." Both devices have passed SGS testing across 12 MIL-STD-810H standards and carry 5 ATM and IP69 ratings, meaning they can withstand rain, mud, and water submersion.

Each watch features an AMOLED display with 1,000 nits of peak brightness, making it readable under direct sunlight. Dual-band GPS L1+L5 ensures fast satellite acquisition and accurate route tracking. A built-in flashlight with five brightness levels proved genuinely useful during daily use.

The ORB 2 sports a round screen and a classic design, while the PULSE 2 comes with a larger rectangular display that is more convenient during workouts. Battery life is a key differentiator: the ORB 2 lasts over two weeks on a single charge, while the PULSE 2 offers slightly less endurance. Both models include over 170 sports modes, and the companion Apexmove app provides training plans, instructional videos, and helpful reminders.

Key limitations include the absence of offline maps and on-watch navigation, no LTE or NFC support, and no built-in storage for music. The walkie-talkie feature only works between compatible KOSPET devices. The proprietary Apexmove OS does not support third-party app stores. On the ORB 2's round screen, users may occasionally need to scroll through workout data.

After weeks of testing, the watches are recommended for users who need a durable smartwatch without paying a premium for a top-tier brand. The ORB 2 is the better choice for those who prefer a classic look and longer battery life, while the PULSE 2 suits those who prioritize a large display for fitness tracking.
