Honor Robot Phone’s 200MP camera costs $455 to replace — more than an iPhone 16

Honor has disclosed the official repair prices for its flagship Robot Phone, revealing that the 200-megapixel main camera module is the most expensive individual component after the motherboard. Replacing the camera costs 3,079 yuan, or approximately $455 — nearly a third of the base model's price.

The Honor Robot Phone was launched on August 12. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is priced at $1,480, while the top-tier configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage costs $1,920.

The motherboard remains the most expensive part. For the 12/512 GB variant, it costs 4,599 yuan (about $680), which is almost half the smartphone's total price. The motherboard for the 16 GB/1 TB model is priced at roughly $975.

The display module is valued at 1,379 yuan ($205), with a special replacement price of 979 yuan ($145). The back cover costs 379 yuan ($55), and the battery is 319 yuan ($45). The front-facing camera module is priced at 149 yuan ($20), the 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera at 199 yuan ($30), and the 200-megapixel periscope telephoto module at 879 yuan ($130).

The main camera's high replacement cost stems from its unique mechanical stabilization system, which makes the module complex and expensive to manufacture. As a result, replacing the Robot Phone's camera costs more than the full retail price of many modern smartphones, including the iPhone 16.
