GTA VI day-night cycle leaked: one in-game day will last nearly 2.5 real hours

Hackers from the Cyberleek group continue to leak gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto VI. While respecting Rockstar Games, we do not distribute these clips, but the latest fragment has caught the attention of observant players who spotted a significant change in the game's time system.
When the in-game map appeared on screen for a few seconds, it displayed the current time — advancing from 7:29 to 7:30 took exactly six seconds of real-world time. Simple math shows that a full day in Vice City will last 144 minutes, or nearly two and a half hours. This is a dramatic shift from previous entries: in classic GTA titles, one real second equaled one in-game minute, making a full day pass in just 24 minutes. In GTA V, the cycle was slightly longer at 48 minutes per day.
If this change is confirmed, it likely aims to enhance realism and give players more time to explore Vice City's neon-lit streets, especially at night. The slower pace could also tie into new gameplay mechanics, though Rockstar has not commented on this yet.
More details may be revealed on August 27 during a special presentation on Netflix. Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19 exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
