Fanless MeLE Quieter HD mini PC with Intel N150 and dust resistance starts at $472

MeLE has added a new model to its Quieter lineup, the HD, a fanless mini PC with dust resistance designed for round-the-clock operation. The device is built around a 4-core Intel N150 processor with a 6 W TDP and a boost clock of up to 3.6 GHz, paired with 6 MB of L3 cache. In terms of performance, this chip is comparable to the Core i5-8250U released nearly a decade ago, making it suitable only for light tasks like web browsing, email, and file management.

The modest power is offset by a design aimed at industrial use. MeLE positions the Quieter HD as a solution for digital signage and automation, highlighting its 24/7 operation capability and dust-resistant build. The system ships with 8 or 16 GB of DDR4 RAM in a single slot that can be upgraded later. Storage is also replaceable: M.2 2280 NVMe drives up to 4 TB are supported, and a bay for 2.5-inch SATA drives up to 4 TB adds room for extra capacity, totaling up to 8 TB.

The port selection includes three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A, a micro SD card slot, two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, two 3.5 mm headphone jacks, and Gigabit Ethernet. Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The chassis has a volume of 0.6 L and measures 150 × 105.4 × 39.6 mm.

Pricing is notably steep: the base version with 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB drive costs $472.49, while the top configuration with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD goes for $682.49, excluding shipping and taxes. For comparison, the traditional Geekom M6 Ultra mini PC powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS with 16 GB of RAM is available for $459.99, making it a more attractive option for regular users who do not need fanless operation or dust protection.
