DJI Osmo 360 II shoots 8K/60 with a 1-inch sensor and swappable lens

DJI has unveiled the Osmo 360 II, its latest 360-degree camera built around a 1-inch square sensor capable of recording video in 8K resolution at 60 frames per second. The new model offers a dynamic range of 14.5 stops, a dedicated low-light shooting mode, and support for AI-powered imaging features.

The camera body weighs just 183 grams. DJI applied a second-generation ultra-hard optical coating to the lens to improve scratch and wear resistance. The lens itself is now removable, so a bad impact won't force users to replace the entire unit. Built-in storage remains at 105 GB, the same as the previous generation.

Pricing in China starts at 3,299 yuan (about $490) for the base package, which includes the camera, a cold-resistant 2150 mAh battery, two lens protective caps, and a carry bag. A more complete creator kit is available for 3,999 yuan (roughly $580) and adds two extra batteries, a multifunctional battery case, an adjustable quick-release adapter, and a 1.2-meter selfie stick.

According to DJI, the included battery can record continuously in 8K at 30 fps for about 100 minutes. It charges to 80% in approximately 22 minutes. An additional battery with a two-sided magnetic mount extends total runtime by another 180 minutes, which should be enough for longer shooting sessions.

The headline feature of the Osmo 360 II is its new square sensor with expanded dynamic range, designed to preserve more detail in both shadows and highlights. Combined with the AI-assisted processing, the camera aims to deliver cleaner, more balanced footage in challenging lighting conditions. The removable lens and improved durability also suggest DJI focused on practical concerns for creators who shoot on the move. Full international availability and pricing outside China have not been announced yet, but the local launch gives a clear idea of what to expect from the global release.
