Battlefield 6 Top Gun update lands August 18 with new jets, Carrier Strike and Wake Island

Battlefield 6 has unveiled a cinematic trailer for its free Top Gun update, launching August 18. The video showcases new aircraft, the iconic Wake Island map, fresh air combat modes, and extra content inspired by the blockbuster film franchise.
Two new jets are the centerpiece of the update, with their capabilities teased in the trailer. A dedicated air combat mode called Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep will also arrive, throwing players into fast-paced and intense dogfights in the skies.
The revamped Carrier Strike mode is making a return, giving players more ways to leverage aviation. Pilots will need to push through enemy defenses while opponents try to take down aircraft by any means available.
Wake Island, one of the most recognizable maps in the Battlefield series, is another major addition. On top of that, an aircraft carrier is being added to the Tsuru Reef map, opening up fresh opportunities for combined air and naval warfare.
Players can also look forward to extra rewards tied to special challenges themed around the update.
