Xiaomi rolls out HyperOS 4 beta: faster HyperCore and Super XiaoAi 2.0 arrive

Xiaomi has officially kicked off the first wave of beta testing for HyperOS 4, the next iteration of its proprietary interface for smartphones and tablets. Ten devices are eligible for the update at launch. The company is focusing on performance, system optimization, and artificial intelligence features.

The core change is an upgraded HyperCore architecture that introduces two new technologies: Load Calculation and Memory Preloading. In simple terms, the system now distributes resources more intelligently and preloads frequently used apps and functions into memory ahead of time, which should make application launching noticeably faster. Xiaomi also reworked the application runtime environment, touching both the system kernel and the software layer. According to the company, this results in smoother interface animations, better responsiveness, and generally more comfortable day-to-day usage. These are manufacturer promises for now — real-world tests will show how significant the improvement actually is.

The voice assistant has received a major upgrade as well. HyperOS 4 introduces Super XiaoAi 2.0, powered by Xiaomi's proprietary language model, MiMo. The assistant is now better at task planning and understanding context, making interactions more natural and efficient.

The update is closely tied to the transition to Android 17. HyperOS 4 will reach devices across various lineups, including flagships and mid-range models. Xiaomi has not yet announced the full list of supported devices or the timeline for the second wave, but the first ten models already have access to the beta.
