Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max certified in China, launch set for September

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have reportedly been certified for sale in China, revealing key specifications ahead of their expected launch. According to the certification documents, both devices support 100W wired charging and come with UWB technology.

The smartphones are expected to hit the Chinese market in September. Leaker Digital Chat Station claims they will be the first phones powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The same source adds that the two models will feature upgraded displays, cameras, overall performance, and peripheral capabilities.

Notably, the standard Xiaomi 18 will not join them in September. It is rumored to launch in December, possibly alongside the Xiaomi 18 Max. This staggered release mirrors Apple's strategy, separating the launch of the base model from the Pro versions. If the rumor about the cancellation of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra proves true, the Pro Max will serve as the company's top-tier device for the foreseeable future.

The larger Pro Max model may also see an international release at some point after its Chinese debut. The certification in China has confirmed that Xiaomi is not only updating its hardware but also revising its product launch strategy.
