Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 delayed to December, pushing launch back by 2.5 months

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 will not launch in September as previously announced. Publisher Deep Silver and developer King Art Games have moved the release date to December 3, pushing it back by two and a half months.

The original launch was scheduled for September 17, a date revealed during the Warhammer Skulls 2026 showcase in May. Owners of the Commander Edition will get early access on November 30.

Lead developer Jan Theysen attributed the delay to the need for further polish. He said public testing produced a large amount of feedback, and the team requires more time to fix bugs, optimize performance, and refine the overall experience. He stressed that the studio wants to ship a game that meets both its own ambitions and player expectations, ensuring everyone gets the best possible experience from day one.

The postponement also affects the schedule for post-launch content. Over the coming weeks, the developers plan to showcase upcoming improvements, detail specific gameplay elements, and reveal new footage.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is being built exclusively for Steam and will not be available in the Russian region. Announced features include a return to classic RTS roots, an epic campaign with 70 missions, high visual fidelity, and Russian language support.
