Ukraine’s «Bebradron» gets a training variant to teach drone interceptors in real combat scenarios

Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech has unveiled a modified version of its fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle «Bebradron», designated «Bebradron-M». The new variant is specifically designed for training pilots and drone interceptor operators, as well as for practicing air target engagement scenarios using a real UAV.
According to the company, operators gain the ability to detect, pursue, and intercept an actual aerial target, obtaining hands-on experience in conditions close to combat. The «Bebradron-M» can also serve as a decoy target during counter-reconnaissance drills. To enhance its radar signature, foil-based materials are applied to the drone's wings, making the aircraft generate an additional radar return and enabling training scenarios with multiple air targets.
In terms of design and operational principles, the «Bebradron-M» is similar to the combat «Bebradron». The differences lie in the internal equipment: the training version carries no warhead but can still accommodate a payload of up to 2 kg. It also lacks cruise control and navigation systems.
The base configuration includes a twilight camera, analog video link, control at 915 MHz frequency, and a 6S3P battery. The drone is piloted manually by an operator. Its cruising speed is 70 km/h, with a maximum speed of 115 km/h. Flight endurance is up to 25 minutes, and the operational radius reaches 30 km. The UAV can operate at altitudes ranging from 200 to 700 meters.
