Trump to award Artemis II crew the Congressional Space Medal of Honor after record-breaking Moon flyby

U.S. President Donald Trump will present the Artemis II crew with the Congressional Space Medal of Honor, the highest space award in the United States, on August 28. The ceremony will take place at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time (6:00 p.m. Moscow time).
The recipients are NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will also attend the ceremony alongside the president and the crew.
The four astronauts completed a 10-day flyby of the Moon on April 10. The Artemis II mission was the first crewed mission under the Artemis program and the first test flight of the Orion spacecraft with astronauts on board. It marked the first time in more than 50 years that humans have traveled beyond lunar orbit, and the crew set a new record for the farthest distance humans have traveled from Earth, surpassing previous achievements. The mission served as a test of the crewed version of Orion ahead of further development of NASA's lunar program.
