This $27 USB-C cable has a built-in screen, delivers 240W and 80 Gbps — here’s how it works

A new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter has introduced the Vogatiki USB-C cable, notable for its integrated display built directly into the connector housing. The small screen shows real-time charging parameters — power, voltage, and current — allowing users to verify the actual performance of their charger and connected device. This helps determine whether the charger and gadget meet their claimed specifications.
The cable supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 with a maximum power output of 240W. This makes it suitable not only for smartphones and tablets but also for high-power laptops that require fast charging. Data transfer speeds reach up to 80 Gbps thanks to a built-in USB4 controller integrated into the cable, ensuring compatibility with the latest high-speed protocols.
Video transmission is also supported, with the cable capable of handling resolutions up to 16K at 60 Hz. However, this feature is unlikely to be practical for most users in the near future, as consumer displays with such resolution are virtually nonexistent, and existing professional monitors are extremely expensive. Additionally, the actual achievable resolution and refresh rate depend on the capabilities of both the source device and the display.
The cable features a durable nylon braided exterior designed for long-term use. The early-bird price on Kickstarter is set at $27. The campaign is already active, and the first shipments are expected within the coming months.
