Team8 raises $365M, pushing assets under management to nearly $2B

Israel-based venture capital firm Team8 has secured $365 million in additional capital, the company announced this week. The new funding breaks down into $265 million earmarked for Team8 Capital's third fund, with the remaining $100 million set aside for follow-on investments in the most promising startups already in the firm's portfolio.

With this latest raise, Team8's total assets under management now approach $2 billion since the firm was founded in 2014. The venture firm operates on a venture-creation model, co-founding and nurturing early-stage enterprise technology companies across cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, fintech, and digital health.

Team8's cybersecurity portfolio includes several high-profile ventures that have gone on to be acquired, such as Talon, Dig, and Koi — all of which were bought by Palo Alto Networks. The firm provides both strategic capital and operational support to help these companies build solutions aimed at solving critical enterprise security challenges. This year alone, Team8 has backed a string of new cybersecurity startups, including Frame Security, Act Security, Mate Security, Jazz, Fig Security, Astelia, and Lema AI.

Unsurprisingly, artificial intelligence is now the firm's primary focus. Sarit Firon, Managing Partner at Team8, emphasized that as AI capabilities evolve at an unprecedented pace, competitive advantage will no longer come from the underlying model powering a product. Instead, it will come from solving fundamental enterprise problems that stay relevant across technology cycles. Firon said that is exactly where the next generation of category-defining, AI-native companies will be built, and it is where Team8's enterprise Village communities and go-to-market expertise come into play.
