S.T.A.L.K.E.R. creator launches YouTube channel about exoplanets, builds videos on 4A Engine

Andriy Prokhorov, lead designer of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and co-founder of 4A Games, has launched his own YouTube channel called Encyclopedia of Plausible Worlds. The project sits at the intersection of science and fiction, focusing on exoplanets and plausible worlds beyond the Solar System. The first episode covers one of the moons in the Epsilon Eridani system.

Prokhorov announced the move on Facebook, saying it is "never too late to become a YouTuber." He added that he finally decided to combine his long-standing interest in space with his love for creating new worlds. Separate versions of the first video are available in English, Ukrainian, and Russian so viewers can pick the one they prefer.

The videos are made manually using the open SDK of the 4A Engine, with existing scientific data on exoplanets as the basis. According to the author, this kind of work takes considerable time, so a new video should not be expected for at least a few months.

Prokhorov left 4A Games in 2021 due to health issues, after the studio was acquired by Embracer Group. Back in 2013, following the release of Metro: Last Light, he wanted to develop a science-fiction survival game set on another planet, but publishers insisted on continuing the Metro series.
