Roblox nicknames: free display name every 7 days, username change costs 1000 Robux

Roblox players have two separate identifiers: a display name visible to other users and a unique username used to sign in. The two work differently — the first can be changed for free, while the second requires spending in-game currency.

The display name appears on the profile and inside games. It is not unique, so multiple users can pick the same one. To change it, players need to open Settings Account Info Display Name. This is free, but a new change becomes available only after seven days. If the chosen name violates platform rules, Roblox may replace it with the account's username.

The username is a unique identifier that the platform uses to recognize a specific account. It is required for logging in and finding players, and no two accounts can share the same username. To change it, users must go to Settings Account Info Username, enter a new variant and their current password, then confirm the purchase. At the time of publication, the change costs 1000 Robux.

The process works both from a PC and in the Roblox mobile app.
