PewCB One makes a PCB at home in an hour: laser machine replaces chemical etching

The PewCB One desktop system can produce double-sided printed circuit boards at home or in the office, cutting the prototyping cycle from days to hours. The device works as a fully enclosed laser engraver with an integrated air filtration system, eliminating the chemical reagents used in traditional manufacturing methods.
At the core of the PewCB One is a pulsed laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm, average optical power of 20 W, and a pulse duration of about 100 ns. The laser spot has a diameter of 35 microns, enabling trace widths down to 0.1 mm through laser ablation — the removal of material from the substrate surface.
Consumables are double-sided blanks with vias and plated through-holes. They are made of copper-clad alumina and zirconia ceramics. Blank sizes range from 23 x 23 mm to 84 x 80 mm.
The full cycle — from a bare double-sided blank to a complete assembled module — is performed on a single device. This makes the PewCB One an attractive tool for engineers and hardware developers who need fast iterative testing without waiting for factory deliveries.
