Merilo app adds Outages section to pinpoint who's to blame for service failures

Users of the Merilo by Vigo app can now find out why a website or app won't load. The program has launched an Outages section that aggregates data on disruptions affecting popular online platforms worldwide.

The feature covers banking apps, booking services, online stores, and ticketing platforms. If a user's connection is stable but the resource is simultaneously unavailable to many people, the problem is widespread and lies with the service itself rather than the customer's link.

The data for the section is generated from technical measurements taken by Merilo by Vigo, not just user reports. This approach is intended to provide a more objective picture of what's happening.

Anton Prokopenko, director of products at Vigo and Merilo by Vigo, said the new feature complements the existing availability checks for individual services. It lets users compare local measurement results with the broader situation and determine whether an outage stems from a specific connection or affects a large number of people.

In addition to tracking outages, Merilo by Vigo can measure internet speed and other connection parameters. The app launched in fall 2025 and is available on Android and iOS.
