Keychron refreshes M4 fingertip mouse with MagOpt switches and translucent retro colors

Keychron has unveiled an updated version of its compact M4 gaming mouse, designed for fingertip grip users. The main change is the addition of the company's proprietary MagOpt magnetic switches, which were previously announced alongside another new product — the lightweight G6 HE mouse with a flagship PAW 3955 sensor and seven retro color options.

The previous M4 model relied on standard Huano mechanical switches and a PixArt PAW 3950 optical sensor. Now the manufacturer has decided to bring MagOpt technology to this model, which should deliver faster actuation and greater durability compared to traditional mechanical solutions.

Keychron has not yet disclosed the price of the M4 MagOpt or confirmed whether the mouse will feature the new open-source firmware or the upgraded PAW 3955 sensor like the G6 HE. However, the available colorways have already been revealed: Frosted Lavender, Frosted Ice, Frosted Smoke, and Frosted Mint. All of them feature a translucent finish that nods to retro design.

The M4 stands out with its unconventional ergonomics, aimed specifically at users who prefer a fingertip grip. The updated version retains this feature but gains modern internals. Additional details, including the price and release date, are expected to be announced by the manufacturer at a later time.
