JoJo's Golden Spirit launches August 13 on iOS and Android, first global release outside Japan

The strategy RPG JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit, developed by Hoolai Game Limited and published by KLab Games and Wanda Cinemas Games, now has an official worldwide release date. The game hits iOS and Android on August 13, 2026, in all regions except Japan. It marks the first mobile title in the JoJo franchise to receive an official launch outside the country.

The campaign spans story arcs from Phantom Blood through Stone Ocean, covering the first six parts of the manga. Developers recreate key anime confrontations using high-detail 3D models paired with Live2D character art. Players assemble squads from characters across different eras, upgrading them through Stand awakening, skill enhancement, gear forging, and character ascension. Units come in R, SR, and SSR rarities, with cinematic Stand activation sequences included. The main theme was composed by Yugo Kanno, known for soundtracks to Stardust Crusaders and The JoJoLands.

Combat replaces traditional turn-based fights with an 11-panel tactical grid focused on positioning. Each encounter hinges on two pillars: Wit governs counterplay and exploiting enemy weaknesses, while combat handles skill synergies between paired characters. Chaining ultimate abilities across three different battle styles triggers RUSH bursts, granting bonus damage and energy recovery. Battles take place across 18 dynamic environments with real-time weather — sandstorms, rain, and heavy snow alter character stats and ability performance. A 360-degree free camera frames Stand attacks. Beyond story-driven PvE stages, the game includes world boss battles and ranked PvP.

An English-language closed beta ran from May 15 to May 29 in the US, UK, Canada, and France. Pre-registration has surpassed two million sign-ups, unlocking a free SR Joseph Joestar for those who register before launch. The game carries a 9+ age rating on Google Play and App Store, with a 3.6GB download size and in-app Astrogem purchases ranging from $0.99 to $99.99. Pre-registration is live now on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
