Classic 1998 shooter SiN gets a 4K remaster on September 24 — with the original game included

Nightdive Studios has announced the release date for SiN: Reloaded, a remaster of the classic 1998 first-person shooter. The game launches on September 24, 2026, simultaneously on PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
The original SiN arrived in November 1998 but was overshadowed by Valve's legendary Half-Life, despite introducing several ambitious mechanics. The shooter featured interactive levels with hackable terminals, elevators, and security cameras. Players could shoot weapons out of enemies' hands with precise aim, and the game tracked hit locations on the body. The story unfolded in a dark future: protagonist Colonel John Blade hunted the villainess Elexis Sinclair, who was developing a mutagenic drug. In 2006, the series got a sequel, SiN Episodes: Emergence, but only the first of nine planned episodes was ever released.
Three studios are working on the remaster: Nightdive Studios and Ritual Entertainment, the original creators. The project runs on Nightdive's proprietary KEX engine, the same technology used for remasters of Quake, System Shock, and the Turok series. It is specifically designed to preserve classic games for modern hardware. The graphics have been upgraded to 4K resolution, with improved models, textures, lighting, and particle effects. The package includes the original SiN version running via DOSBox, plus the SiN: Wages of Sin expansion map, which was previously only available in a special 1998 edition.
The developers promise full support for trophies and achievements, cloud saves, gamepad controls, and controllers with haptic feedback. SiN: Reloaded will be available on all platforms on the same day.
