Casio launches first-ever analog Pro Trek in the US — one model at $230

Casio has officially launched its new Pro Trek PRJ-01AE-8J watch on its US website, following the initial release in Japan. This model marks a significant departure for the Pro Trek lineup: it is the first fully analog watch in the series, featuring a straightforward three-hand analog design with no LCD screen, triple sensors, connected features, or extra subdials.
Previously, Casio listed three variants on its Japanese store: the PRJ-01-1J, the PRJ-01AE-7J, and the PRJ-01AE-8J. However, only the PRJ-01AE-8J has made its way to the US market. It remains unclear whether the other two models will be released in the US later. The watch is priced at $230 and is currently listed as "available soon." Interested buyers can sign up on Casio's website to receive a notification when the watch becomes available for purchase.
The Casio Pro Trek PRJ-01AE-8J features a bio-based resin case measuring 39.1 mm in width and 11.6 mm (0.45 inch) in thickness. At just 32 grams (1.12 ounces), the watch is exceptionally lightweight for its category. The design is finished in dark grey, with a white dial adorned with hour markers, a date display window, and a combination of thin seconds and wide hour and minute hands. For low-light readability, the watch includes a white phosphorescent dial.
Key features include Tough Solar technology, which allows the watch to charge from ambient light, eliminating the need for frequent battery changes. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 bar) and comes with a low battery alert. Additionally, the analog watch is equipped with a carabiner strap that can be easily attached or detached. The strap is designed for convenience, making it simple to switch between wearing styles or secure the watch to a bag or gear.
