Abxylute M5 and M6 magnetic controllers for smartphones head to Kickstarter

Abxylute is expanding its lineup of mobile gamepads with two new models for smartphones, the M5 and M6. Both will launch through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, just like the predecessor M4, which is currently available on Amazon for $42.49.

So far, only the M6 design has been revealed. The controller features a magnetic attachment for the phone and a sliding mechanism: pulling the panel up exposes the controls, including a D-pad, two symmetrical thumbsticks, and ABXY buttons arranged in an Xbox-style layout. In-line triggers and detachable magnetic grips complete the package.

As for the M5, its appearance remains under wraps, but based on the available image, it is expected to be slimmer than the M6. Both devices appear to support landscape orientation only. Further details are expected once the Kickstarter campaign begins, though no exact date has been announced.

When the controllers hit the market, they will go up against the Mcon magnetic gamepad. It is still unclear what other features the M5 and M6 will bring, but releasing two models at once suggests Abxylute aims to strengthen its position in the mobile gaming accessories segment.
