2027 Hyundai Tucson grows 60mm longer, gets cyberpunk redesign — launch set for October

Hyundai has officially unveiled the all-new Tucson for the 2027 model year, featuring a radically redesigned exterior and interior. The crossover adopts a much more aggressive, angular look, and the company plans to launch sales this October.

The new Tucson has grown significantly compared to its predecessor. Length increases by 60 mm to 4,700 mm, width by 40 mm to 1,905 mm, and the wheelbase extends by 30 mm to 2,785 mm. These changes are expected to improve cabin space, especially for second-row passengers.

The exterior styling is the most dramatic departure. Up front, a full-width LED light bar spans the nose, complemented by vertical daytime running lights. The bumper is larger and more chiseled, while the grille openings are thinner. The XRT trim gets an even more rugged front-end design with pronounced off-road styling cues. In profile, the body features squared-off wheel arches, sharp creases on the doors, and chunky side sills. The rear continues the theme with a slim light bar spanning the tailgate and vertical LED taillights.

Inside, Hyundai has completely overhauled the dashboard layout. The outgoing model's curved dual-screen setup is replaced by a freestanding display for the new Pleos infotainment system, positioned prominently in the center. The driver faces a narrow digital instrument cluster. The design feels both fresh and more conventional compared to the previous generation's integrated screens.

Hyundai has not yet disclosed technical specifications, powertrain options, or pricing for the 2027 Tucson. More details are expected closer to the market launch in October.
